AAAAAAAAAAhHHH thank you so much ;____; im so glad i was able to convince someone to get into sonic. there’s so much lore and great characters to explore!!!!!!!

something that confuses me to no end is (pun intended) what the deal of the end is. i feel like it’s the opposite of chaos (pure order) and in a way it’s a visualization/conceptualization of the theory that the universe will die through everything becoming one single huge black hole at the end of time???

but this goes so h ard against everything established of sonic’s character in satbk. “all worlds have its end, i know it’s sad but that’s why we got to live life while it lasts” ok but why is it ok to fight the death of the universe now if it’s inevitable?

like i get why, but it just is such a weird contrast to how a similar problem was treated in a past game

maybe im thinking too hard abt this

in segas defense the death of the universe is an extremely abstract existential dread. wait its not in their defense they shot themselves in the leg by making this concept a villain in the first place

the first thing that comes to my mind is that whatever the end is is not like i guess a natural end of the universe? im still fuzzy on frontiers’ lore but it could be cool if it was some kind of glitch that manifested in the ancients’ coolfancy digital archive or whatever it is and is now trying to end things prematurely (an idea that reminds me of mephiles now that i think abt it) but im probably way off with that one akjsdh

NOW WE’RE TALKING. that makes more sense yeah.

the way that the end talked abt itself just sounded very much like it really is like the personification of “order” and it is, actively, the thing that will cause the death of the universe, as it is literally it’s whole purpose of existing, it just choses at very random which planets and solar systems etc get destroyed first (which is a thing i love. the god of order, going very chaotic about their work. idk. its fun)

now that u say it like that yeah the whole mephiles/solaris deal was basically the same thing but it makes sense bc it was some god wanting to reset the universe and basically killing everyone without letting them have a chance at living their life (which goes against sonics principle of freedom)

what u said actually abt cyberspace reminds me of like. horizon game series and the main villain in that. uh

ill say it under the cut in case anyone minds spoilers lol
